Ranger: role and build decisions

Ranged hunter using precise shots. Read separately sourced Taiwan weapon and role details, purpose-specific choices and a local build worksheet.

Ranger in the official overviews

Global class overview: Ranged hunter using precise shots.

Taiwan guide — 弓星: Bow. Uses a bow for powerful ranged attacks. The guide emphasizes surveying the fight and reacting with suitable tactics.

The weapon and detailed role statements are from the Taiwan guide. They are not numerical Global build testing or proof that every regional patch uses identical effects.

Taiwan starter choices: learn a documented interaction

Practice two documented state-and-follow-up pairs: target slow into 破裂箭, and your own 精密 state into 壓制箭.

Official Taiwan skill names are retained so you can find them in that client. English labels explain the task; they are not verified Global skill names. Use only choices you have actually unlocked, and equip a Stigma only when available. These four options are not an equip-all loadout, a point allocation or a strongest rotation.

  1. Slow setup

    套索箭 / active

Choose this to apply the guide’s 遲緩 slow to a target.

Why compare it: It supplies one of the target states required by 破裂箭.

    • The text describes earth damage and reduced movement speed. Control immunity and actual state application must be checked in game.

  2. Slowed or bound target follow-up

    破裂箭 / active

Use this after verifying that the target is slowed or bound.

Why compare it: A documented prerequisite explains why this belongs beside 套索箭.

    • Requires a target in 遲緩 or 束縛 state; the guide does not provide a timing window in seconds.

  3. Directional movement and 精密 setup

    目標箭 / active

Choose an input direction, use 目標箭, and watch for your own 精密 state.

Why compare it: It combines a movement decision with a clearly named state for the next action.

    • The skill moves the caster in the input direction and temporarily grants 精密, described as increased critical chance.

  4. 精密 follow-up

    壓制箭 / active

Use this while your character has 精密.

Why compare it: Its self-state requirement makes the pairing actionable without inventing a rotation duration.

    • Requires the caster’s 精密 state; the guide describes wind damage and a stun chance. Do not promise control on immune targets.

What these sources do not establish
  • This guide does not supply per-skill character unlock levels or point costs. No level-specific fully allocated preset is established.
  • Exact cooldowns, damage/healing coefficients, specialization-number choices and point-budget legality were not established from these descriptive rows.
  • Practice on eligible targets; no boss-control guarantee, DPS ranking, optimal rotation or simultaneous Stigma-slot capacity is inferred.

Choose around the distance the encounter allows

Start with the distance and positioning a fight permits, then compare the current bow skills you can use while handling its mechanics. No tested accuracy threshold, movement penalty or top rotation is established by this source.

The questions below are our editorial preparation method, anchored to that role rather than a tested strongest setup.

  1. Can you keep the intended range during the encounter?
  2. When must you move or switch target?
  3. Which bow-skill conditions can you reliably meet?

Turn the goal into a client-specific preset

The Taiwan skill guide distinguishes active and passive mastery skills, specialization conditions and Stigma advancement. Ordinary skill points and Stigma fragments are different resources. Read the effect and prerequisite in your current client before spending either.

For this bow role, record the weapon and equipment effects you already have, the current skill names you intend to change, and the encounter you want to handle. No universal stat breakpoint, exact slot count or best-in-slot list is assumed.

Make one change you can evaluate

Repeat the same movement and target changes in each test. A stationary test and a mechanics-heavy encounter measure different conditions.

Save the purpose, client patch and actual choices below. The manual damage-test calculator can compare your own measured totals, but a damage number cannot replace healing, control or protection responsibilities.

Your build notebook

Write the exact choices shown in your client and what you want to test. This is a personal worksheet, not a point-budget simulator, a recommended rotation or a best-in-slot verdict.

Only Save writes these notes to this browser. Restore is explicit. Changing a game patch does not update the notes automatically.
