Essence extraction: attempts, durability and progression

Taiwan: check the level-45 unlock

The Taiwan guide states that gathering becomes available from character level 45. Do not transplant this requirement to Global, or replace it with an unsourced level-10 claim.

The same guide describes a profession-upgrade quest at extraction level 50. Character level and extraction proficiency level are different measurements.

A failed attempt still uses the node

Interacting with a gathering object starts an extraction attempt. The success and failure gauges compete to reach 100%. Each attempt consumes node durability whether it succeeds or fails; the object disappears when durability is exhausted.

Repeated extraction increases proficiency and grants dedicated skill points. Extraction skills are passive, and their levels improve gathering speed and success. These mechanics do not prove a fixed number of attempts or a guaranteed rare material.

A repeatable gathering session

1. Confirm the service-specific unlock and current quest in your client.
2. Select the material and inspect the node before attempting extraction.
3. Record the material, starting durability, attempts, successes and elapsed time yourself.
4. Compare general passive choices with material-specific choices in the current skill menu.
5. Change one choice, repeat comparable conditions and keep the actual result rather than a promised profit rate.

For an external Global material search

RaidRelay exposes a gathering-material selector on its provider-described Global map. Choose a listed zone, select the material and inspect a pin on that site. Verify it in your client; no coordinates, profitability model or rare-node total is imported here.
